FlashOTG Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy ("this Policy") explains how FlashOTG (hereinafter "the Software" or "we") collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
We deeply understand the importance of personal information to you and will treat it with the utmost prudence. Please carefully read and fully understand this Policy.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Software is an offline utility application. It does NOT collect, upload, or store any of your personal information.
I. Information We DO NOT Collect
The Software is a purely local firmware flashing utility. We do NOT collect, log, store, or upload any of the following information from you:
1.1 Personally Identifiable Information (PII): Including but not limited to your name, phone number, email address, identification document numbers, biometric data, etc.
1.2 Device Identifiers: Including but not limited to your phone's IMEI, MEID, serial number, MAC address, HarmonyOS device identifiers, and other unique device identifiers.
1.3 Location Information: The Software does not access your precise or approximate geographic location.
1.4 Usage Data: The Software does not collect your usage habits, click behavior, operation frequency, or other analytical data.
1.5 Firmware Content: Any firmware files (.hex / .bin / .arduboy / BIN) and their contents that you read, flash, or export remain exclusively on your local device. The Software does not read, copy, upload, or share the contents of these files.
1.6 Device Information: Hardware identification information such as the serial number or chip ID of connected Arduboy devices is used only for local judgment within the current connection session and is never logged, stored, or uploaded.
II. Permission Usage
2.1 To provide services properly, the Software may request the following system permissions, but their use is strictly limited to specific functional scenarios:
- a) USB Device Access Permission
- Purpose: To establish serial communication with Arduboy devices for firmware read/write operations
- Data flow: Establishes only a local wired connection between your phone and the Arduboy device
- Communication content is never transmitted over the network in any form
- b) Storage Read Authorization (System File Picker)
- Purpose: To allow you to select firmware files (.hex / .bin / .arduboy) from device storage
- Triggered only when you actively tap "Select File"
- We do not proactively scan your storage
- c) Storage Write Authorization (System File Picker)
- Purpose: To save backup BIN files and EEPROM dump data to your device storage
- Triggered only when you actively tap "Export" or "Backup"
- File save locations are designated by you
- d) Network Access
- This app does not request the INTERNET permission; the firmware resources page only copies links to the clipboard for you to open in a browser
2.2 All permissions granted by you are used solely for the above functions and will not be used for any other purposes. You may revoke granted permissions at any time in system settings.
III. Data Storage
3.1 The Software may store the following local data on your device:
- a) Your manually selected language preference (Chinese / English);
- b) Runtime logs (stored only in device local storage, for troubleshooting purposes).
3.2 All above data is stored exclusively on your device locally and is never uploaded to any remote server. You may delete runtime logs at any time via the "Clear Logs" function, or uninstall the Software to clear all local data.
